Mings values first point of the season

We expected that we were going to have to fight and win duels, win second balls, and be patient. We had some good chances. “They were always going to cause us a threat as well because they are a good team. Overall, in the context of our season, some people might say it is a bad point and we should be coming here to win, but I always value any away point, especially with a clean sheet. “Not to say that the changes we have had this season are the reason, but it takes time for a new team to gel. We have signed some fantastic players. Overall, as a centre-back, I am happy with an away clean sheet.”A run of three games without a win to start the top flight has drawn comparisons with last season, when Villa waited until their sixth game to taste victory. The squad didn’t panic then and they won’t now, according to Mings, who is committed to helping the new signings find their groove quickly. "We don't sit here and say we are not trying to win games,” he said. “We have to take the responsibility as players who have been here for a long time and help the new signings gel and settle in, and get used to the manager's ideas and how we play as quickly as possible. “Of course, patience is key, and it reminds me of the start we made last season. We have a fantastic group and I am really excited for what we can achieve this season."
