'I'm willing to give everything to win'

Taylor Harwood-Bellis has spoken of his pride at joining Aston Villa, promising to give everything to help deliver success to the club. The 24-year-old is relishing a return to the Premier League after completing a move from Southampton, arriving in B6 ready to show his qualities in claret and blue. England international Harwood-Bellis was a happy man when he spoke to VillaTV for the first time.“I’m full of pride to have signed for a club like Aston Villa, it’s massive for me and my family. I'm so proud,” he said. “To come to a club of the stature of Villa is something that I wanted to strive for in my career, and to get here now is the time to kick on.” When asked what qualities he’ll bring to the club, Harwood-Bellis replied: “I think off the pitch, a leadership and determination. I'm willing to give everything to win. I think that's been shown at the past clubs I've been at. “I like to think that anyone who's watched me play can see that I wear my heart on my sleeve and I'd do anything to win. People that I've worked with, it's the thing that is always mentioned around me in terms of my determination and my passion. “And on the pitch, I like to think that I've got qualities on the ball. Defensively, I've improved so much.“I'm willing to go again, I want to go again, I want to improve again, but hopefully my feet do the talking in terms of what qualities I have on the pitch. I'm raring to go.” The defender came through the ranks at Manchester City, embarking on several loan spells before he joined the Saints permanently in 2024. He gained experience in the top flight and added a promotion to his CV via the Championship play-offs, and he joins Villa with a desire to take his game to the next level. “I'm at a point now in my career where I'm ready to kick on, and also to come to a club with the manager, the stature, and the squad that's been assembled, is going to be perfect for me to come in and add to my game, add to the group and also improve,” Harwood-Bellis said.“I’ve got so much to improve on, while giving what I can. To have a manager who improves players, that's what I'm coming here to do and to win in the process. “At every club I’ve been at, I'd like to think I’ve improved in different ways. Each manager, I’ve taken things from, and now to work under a manager, like the one here, is just huge for me. “It's a massive step up and something I'm going to thrive on, and I'm willing to learn. “I've got so much to improve. I'm hoping he can add to what I can do already, add to my qualities, and I'm hoping to get myself underway and win in the process.”
