Kelly Clark: We really want to make new ground feel like home for us and the fans

Fresh off the back of winning the opening game of the season, Celtic FC Women captain, Kelly Clark insists the squad are aiming to continuing build as we head into our first home match of the campaign. And the defender is hoping that it will be the start of something special at the Ghirls’ new home, the Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex. After starting off the season with a 2-1 win over Glasgow City, Grant Scott and his squad are gearing up for their first match at a new home. The Hoops got a first taste for that home earlier this week, training in Kirkintilloch ahead of welcoming Montrose this Sunday (1pm KO). Catching up with CelticPlayer ahead of that game, Kelly Clark spoke about how much the entire squad is looking forward to getting out there in front of a home Celtic support. Clark also talked up the importance of just how big a part the fans have to play, with their backing being a massive boost for the players as they aim to make the new ground feel like home in their opening match there. She said: “Yes, you love it. After not seeing the fans all summer, getting them back in, it's a great day to have that first home match. “I'm sure we'll be doing everything to make it special, both on and off the pitch. We really want to make the place feel like home, both for us as players, but for those that come and support us every week. ‘Hopefully we start that with a really good performance on Sunday and moment to share together.’ “The fans play a massive part! It's a long season and their energy is everything to us.
